Local SEO in 30 minutes: the setup that actually moves rankings

Skip the 50-point audits. Five moves — profile, titles, NAP, reviews, internal links — decide whether locals find you. All five fit in half an hour.

The 30-minute plan

  1. Google Business Profile, completed (10 min). Correct primary category, all services listed, hours, service areas, 10+ real photos, description with your main service + city phrase. Most competitors stall at 60% complete — finishing is the edge.
  2. Homepage + service titles (5 min). Plumber in Lahore — Same-Day Repairs | Brand, not Welcome | Brand. One page, one query. (More examples: title rewrites.)
  3. NAP consistency (5 min). Identical business name, phone and address on site footer, profile, Facebook, and top directories. Fix mismatches — they dilute every citation.
  4. Review engine (5 min to start). Short link + QR on receipts, auto-request after every job (automate it), reply to every review within 48 hours. Velocity + replies beat a static 5.0.
  5. Internal links (5 min). Homepage links to each service with descriptive anchors (emergency plumber in DHA, not click here). Services link back up. No orphans.
What not to doDon't spin up 50 thin "service + town" pages, don't buy reviews, don't keyword-stuff the business name. All three invite penalties that cost more than the rankings were worth.

FAQ

What is the fastest local SEO win?

A complete Business Profile plus a working review habit. Most local competitors never finish either.

Do service-area pages help?

One genuine page per area you truly serve, with local proof. Thin doorway pages for dozens of towns hurt.
